DEBIASI

I'm an amateur photographer living in Oxfordshire, England who mainly enjoys close-up/macro and street/documentary photography.
My journey in photography started with my first SLR film camera, a gift from my uncle when I was in high school, which sparked my interest in making pictures. A self-taught photographer, over the years I honed my skills by shooting exclusively slide film, a superb but exacting medium that trained me to rigorously compose and expose my photos. With the turn of the millennium I tried and then embraced digital photography whose possibilities prompted me to explore previously overlooked photographic genres.
I grew up in Padova, a lively city in northern Italy which is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe. Here I graduated as an engineer and served as an officer in the Italian Air Force before moving to Irvine, California, to pursue a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. This turned out to be the start of a migrant life conducting university research first in Ohio, then in Singapore, and lastly in the United Kingdom.
For almost forty years I have cherished photography as an escape to relax and a means to express my creativity.
